We are now well into the new season, so how about a wellbeing spring clean? There are many areas which could have a potential spring clean, here are four to get started:

Check your sunscreen routine.

Most of us are good at remembering to put sunscreen on our face, but what about our neck and décolletage? As the weather warms up and the necklines get lower, we need to remember to protect these areas from the sun. Another area that is forgotten are our hands, they are exposed to sun and weather all year round. This means they are likely to age faster and are susceptible to sun damage. We want our neck, décolletage, and hands to look youthful for as long as possible, so let’s not forget them in our sunscreen routine.

I recently tried Naked Sundays SPF50+ Glow Mist Top Up Spray. I love the packaging, it smells great, leaves a glow on your skin, and can be used on top of makeup. Finding a good sunscreen can be difficult, have you found one you love?

Are your feet summer-ready?

It’s great to give toes a break from nail polish over winter (if you like), but when it’s time to bring out the sandals and strappy shoes, we want our feet to be ready. Try an at home pedicure or pop to a nail salon for some pampering.

There are so many colour and design options to choose from. You may prefer to stay natural or a classic French style, look at the trending colours, or pick one that makes you happy. My go-to is OPI’s Big Apple Red. Do you have a favourite colour or style?

Declutter your space.

We all have wardrobes, desks, bathrooms and kitchens which need decluttering. But it feels so overwhelming trying to take it all on. Choose one space so it is manageable, do one or two clothes drawers or a kitchen cabinet. Work through it all slowly, you will get there, and it will be less stressful.

Keep only those things that speak to your heart. Then take the plunge and discard all the rest. By doing this, you can reset your life and embark on a new lifestyle.

Decluttering can be difficult, it can be hard to let go of some items. When looking at your wardrobe (or kitchen), make three piles that resonate with you. Try ‘I love it’, ‘Your watch has ended’ and ‘Someone else will get joy from this’. Donate this third pile to charity. It will bring you a sense of satisfaction knowing that your items will bring someone joy.

Use DND on your phone.

Could you set a time each evening when you put your phone on Do Not Disturb? We don’t always have to be available but have such FOMO that we stay connected. Consider putting it on DND from when you start to cook dinner. You can enjoy the preparation process and then appreciate the meal. Or when you sit to watch TV, so you can enjoy the show without disruption. Having time in the evening on Do Not Disturb will mean you can be totally present.

We all know how important getting enough sleep is. Do you regularly get caught up in a new streaming series, or can’t put your book down? You can set an evening alarm around when you want to go to bed. As we set one to wake up, why not set one to get a good nights sleep.

Spring brings renewed energy as the weather warms up and we get out more. It is a great time of year to look at our routine and adjust if needed. Hopefully, these four areas of spring cleaning your wellbeing have inspired you and shown you that small changes can make a big difference.
